Four people were reported dead in a multi-vehicle accident along the Ilesa-Akure Expressway in Osun State.
The crash, which occurred at Ikeji-Arakeji in the Oriade Local Government Area, also resulted in 20 injuries.
The accident involved two commercial buses and a truck, with one of the vehicles catching fire following the collision.
Osun Federal Road Safety Corps Sector Commander, Taofeek Somunbi, confirmed that the fatalities included three females and one male adult.
He attributed the accident to speeding and reckless driving by the vehicle operators.
Somunbi also noted that the incident happened on Wednesday and that the FRSC has since cleared the debris.
He advised road users to exercise caution to ensure their safety and that of other motorists.
