Osun government demands return of official vehicles from former appointees

Osun government demands return of official vehicles from for

The Osun State Government has declared that all former political appointees who served during the tenure of the immediate past governor, Adegboyega Oyetola, and currently possess official vehicles unlawfully must return them.

The Secretary to the State Government, Teslim Igbalaye, revealed this while addressing journalists in Osogbo on behalf of the committee on Tuesday.

He said some of those who went away with official vehicles relied on approval they got from the ex-head of Service, which he said was illegal.

According to him, it was illegal for the Head of Service to authorize any appointee to leave office with official vehicles.

However, Igbalaye said the law empowers the governor to allow political appointees to go home with official vehicles, provided certain conditions are met.

At the event, Governor Ademola Adeleke charged members of the Task Force to ensure the immediate recovery of government assets/project vehicles that were illegally taken away by the officials of the immediate past administration.

Recall that Adeleke, on Wednesday, February 14, inaugurated a Task Force on Recovery of Assets/Government Project Vehicles.
