Osun Government Expresses Readiness To Support Health Care D

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health, Kayode Adegoke has assured of the readiness of the Osun State Government to provide quality healthcare delivery system.

This is as it also assured that it will collaborate with a non governmental organization, Excellence Community Education Welfare Scheme (ECEWS).

Adegoke disclosed this at an event organised preparatory to the official launch of Osun State HIV treatment surge held at the EOC room of the Ministry of health State Secretariat.

He disclosed that the essence of the Surge program is basically aimed at creating enough awareness of the program in the state so as to enhance easy access of it by the victims. 

The Career Head in the Ministry used the medium to appreciate the US Consul General, Will Stevens for finding time to be in Osun State for the event.

He similarly appreciated the Country Director, US Center for Disease Control, Dr Mary Boyo for providing both financial and technical supports for the project through the United States Government.

In his goodwill message, the US Consul General, Will Stevens commended Osun State Government for the warm reception extended the Team.

Stevens, however, hinted that he initially thought that HIV AIDS was rampant in only South Africa until he got a contrary impression particularly in Nigeria.

In the same vein, he stressed that the good thing about HIV/AIDS which many people do not know is the fact that if quickly attended to medically, it is preventable.

In his closing remarks,the Chief Executive Officer, for Excellence Community Education Welfare Scheme (ECEWS), Andy Eyo appreciated all the stakeholders present at the meeting, with a declaration that the program if it eventually comes to fruition will motivate all the stakeholders.
