Osun Government Inducts Environmental Officers, Harps On Eff

The Head of Service, Osun State, Ayanleye Aina has identified training and retraining as a major key to success in all human endeavours.

Aina made the assertion while declaring open a day induction/orientation programme organised by the Osun State Local Government Service Commission for the newly converted Environmental Health Officers in the local government service.

Addressing the newly converted environmentalists, Ayanleye posited that the world was not static.

"It is dynamic. In view of the fact that things are changing, you must therefore be constantly trained in order to be in tune with new ideas, new techniques and new methods in your chosen profession," he said.

He admonished the new Environmental Health Officers to imbibe the public service ethics of hard work, honesty and punctuality along with the rudiments of their new cadre so that they can go far in service.

While reminding them that they are field officers, Ayanleye counselled them to see the field as their office.

"The field is your office. Your office is outside. Go all out in the performance of your field services with a view to ensuring cleanliness and environmental health in all our villages, towns and cities," he added.

Earlier in his address of welcome, the Coordinating Director of the Commission, Lekan Babalola while congratulating the officers on their elevation also charged them to reciprocate the kind gesture by giving their best to the service.

He, therefore, enjoined them to take advantage of the training session to update themselves on new trends in public service and in their new career so that government expenses on the training would be fully maximized.
