The Osun State Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola on Thursday paid a visit to the scene of the fire disaster which razed Art Deco Furniture Showroom in Osogbo.
The governor while on the visit commended the men of the Federal and Osun Fire Services and Rescue Teams who arrived the scene early and battled for several hours to put out the raging fire.
While sympathizing with residents and Ayodeji Ogedengbe, the Chief Executive Officer of Artdeco Global Integrated Nig. Ltd. for his losses in the inferno, Oyetola promised the commitment of the state government towards providing a safe environment for businesses to thrive.
He however urged the citizens and residents that they have a part to play in making the environment safe.
The governor who was thankful to God that no life was lost during the inferno also called for caution urge and the the need to be fire safety cnscious and being alert always as the dry season approaches.
Art Deco furniture showroom located in Akindeko Market, Alekuwodo area of Osogbo was in Thursday morning engulfed in flames.
The firefighters who were the first responders fought the blaze for several hours before it could be quenched.
They also revealed that the cause of the inferno was a surge in electrical voltage supply.
Meanwhile, the Osun State Government has ordered the demolition of the structures afacted by the blaze.
