Osun Guber: My Priority Is For PDP To Win Osun Gubernatorial Election, Says Babayemi

Osun Guber: My Priority Is For PDP To Win Osun Gubernatorial

Dotun Babayemi, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State has declared that what is important to him is for his party to win the Osun gubernatorial election slated to hold on Saturday, July 16, 2022.

Babayemi made this known while fielding questions from journalists shortly after the Federal High Court, Osogbo judgment against his candidacy of the PDP for the guber poll.

The Federal High Court, Osogbo had in a judgment delivered by Justice Nathaniel Ayo Emmanuel ruled that Senator Ademola Adeleke was the duly recognised PDP gubernatorial candidate for the Osun election.

The judgment also ruled that courts could not decide on political party affairs since it is their internal issues.

On the possibility of appealing the judgment, Babeyemi stated that his team was going to study the ruling.

“As you all know that the judiciary is responsible for interpreting our laws.

"We have heard the ruling of the court and the judgement would be available in the next 24 hours.

"This is a court of record, the judgement will be made available in the next 24 hours, we would review the judgment both with our legal team.

"We would also review it politically in the interest of our party being able to take over this state come July 16th, 2022.

“I want to say that this is purely family affair, we are going to review the judgment, not just with our lawyers, but with our people and at the end of the day is for a justice to be done.

"Also, for the PDP to be positioned in a way they can rescue the people of this state from the misrule we’ve had over the last 12 years.

“I want to assure the people of Osun that whatever decision we are going to take, is going to be in the interest of our party and the people of Osun that have been in this situation for twelve years."
