Osun NDLEA Busts Cannabis Worth Millions In 21-Hour Operatio

The Nigerian Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Osun State Command has revealed that its personnel carried out destruction operation on a cannabis farm located at Obada Sawmill in Owena Ijes, Oriade local government area of Osun State.

According to information made available by the leader of the detachment, Odigie Charles, the operation was carried out on Sunday, November 6, 2022.

Odigie also revealed that they located the cannabis farm deep inside the bush after driving for three hours and trekking for an additional two hours.

"The team made a seizure of 2.823 tones of processed cannabis sativa, destroyed 1.2 hectares of cannabis sativa and arrested  13 male suspects.

"The operation lasted for 21 hours," Odigie added.

In the aftermath of the successful drug bust, the Osun NDLEA Commander, Yomade Ogunbiyi has also warned drug barons and their likes to relocate from Osun State as this is just the beginning of such arrests and seizures.
