Osun NYSC Disengages 2,373 Corps Members, Extends Service Fo

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) State Coordinator for Osun State, Abdulwahab Olayinka, has revealed that 2,373 corps members had been disengaged from the 2022 Batch A Stream 1.

This is as she also disclosed that 20 of the corps members will have their service year extended for various infractions while 20 others absconded during their mandatory service year.

Abdulwahab Olayinka, the Osun NYSC State Coordinator made this known while delivering a farewell address at the low-key passing out ceremony for the 2022 Batch A Stream 1 on Thursday.

Abdulwahab admonished the 2022 Batch A Stream 1 Corps Members to be good ambassadors of the scheme even as they have completed their mandatory one-year national service.

The Osun NYSC boss also commended them for a successful service year.

While thanking the Corps Members for leaving enduring legacies through the various Community Development Service (CDS) activities carried out in their host communities added that this was the essence of the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development programme (SAED).

Stressing that the scheme is a major tool in empowering Corps Members towards self reliance and employment generation, she also urged Corps Members to make good use of the abilities they have acquired through the scheme, 

"I enjoin the Passing-out Corps Members not to allow themselves to be used in frustrating the peace and tranquility of the nation.

"I also appeal to them to deploy wisdom and the experience gotten during the service year to rebuild the country.

"Out of the 2,413 Corps Members registered for the stream, a total of 2,373 completed the service year satisfactorily while 20 absconded and 20 had their service extended for various infractions.

"I commit you Corps Members into God's hand. The works of your hands will be blessed and God's grace will be upon you."

She thanked the NYSC management and staff in the state, Corps Employers and the people of Osun State who participated immensely in making sure that the service year of the 2022 Batch A Stream 1 was successful.
