Osun PDP Directs Civil Servants To Defy Government Directives

Osun PDP Directs Civil Servants To Defy Government Directive

The Osun Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have directed civil servants in the state to defy illegal directives from the Adegboyega Oyetola administration.

This is as the Osun PDP also assured the civil servants that they will be fully protected by the incoming administration of Senator Ademola Adeleke.

The inauguration of the new administration will come up on November 27, 2022.

The PDP in a statement signed by Akindele Adekunle, the Osun PDP Caretaker Chairman on Friday in Osogbo warned Heads of Local Administration and Directors of Finance across the local governments to reject the current directive to disburse the N2.7 billion Sure-P fund.

The statement also asserted that will have to carry their cross if they obey illegal orders.

The party while commending civil servants who are resisting pillaging orders from top officials of the outgoing government called on the public service to protect its honour in the last week by avoiding, refusing, disobeying and rejecting any thieving memos.

It also added that any HoLA or DFA who processes directives to steal will be held accountable.

The party while referring to a memo to local governments to spend the Sure-P fund on capital projects questioned what capital projects can be executed in under one week.

The party called on HoLAs and DFAs to avoid engagement with illegality so as not to jeopardise their careers.

"Local government directors should reject the memo on Sure-P fund as it was asking them to divert public funds under the cover of executing capital projects within one week. It is a fraudulent scheme," the statement advised.

Reassuring the public servants of the security of their jobs, the PDP said the APC petition before the Tribunal is defective and ineffective and that a PDP administration will reinstate and rehabilitate any public servant sacked or maltreated for rejecting illegal orders that contravene financial regulations, due process and public service rules.

"We call on public servants to continue to be courageous and patriotic in this last one week.

"Refuse to raise vouchers for payment. Reject memo to auction properties.

"Don’t sign on for any appointments. Report fund movement. Alert us on property pillaging.

"We assured the public servants that the game of mind and misinformation the APC is playing on the Tribunal has failed as Mr Oyetola has failed to prove any reason why Adeleke's election can't stand.

"Adeleke's election conforms with all requirements of the electoral act.

"There was no over-voting and he has no issue with his certificates.

"By November 27, Senator Adeleke will be sworn in as the Governor of Osun state by the Grace of God and all patriots among the public servants and people of Osun will rejoice," the statement concluded.
