Osun PDP Issues Warning To Contractors, Others Ahead Of Power Transfer

Osun PDP Issues Warning To Contractors, Others Ahead Of Powe

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State has warned banks, contractors and civil servants against last-minute deals with the outgoing administration of Adegboyega Oyetola.

This warning is coming ahead of the November 27, 2022 transfer of power from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to PDP in the state.

In a statement by the Osun PDP Caretaker Chairman, Adekunle Akindele on Friday in Osogbo, the party informed the public of the ongoing rush for awards of contracts and payments which the party noted was designed to siphon public funds before the exit of the current administration.

"We are getting daily reports of fund movement under shady cover. We learnt of illegally operated secret accounts with huge deposits unrecorded under official government transaction.

"We alert banks and financial institutions again that no collaborator will be spared once the PDP takes over the state.

"We want to specifically warn contractors, banks, civil servants against ongoing frivolous awards of the following contracts at the Osun State Health Insurance Scheme, the 3 billion Uniosun newly awarded building projects with 30% already mobilised with nothing on site and the overvalued Iwo-Ibadan project.

"We also have reports of accelerated sale of road setbacks to members of the public. This is illegal as setbacks are meant to be free, not a built-up area.

"Any structure built on such setbacks is liable to demolition. The public should beware.

"Our constant alert on the many infractions of the Oyetola administration was designed to forewarn bad losers who want to bring down the house because they failed at an election.

"We are putting on records that those who facilitated illegality and the beneficiaries in and out of government will be called to account," the statement concluded.
