According to Oke, he was visited by his admirers who were of northern extraction living in Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency and they were beating to pulp by the hoodlums.

"The unsuspecting visitors left my house at GRA, Oke-Fia and ran into the political thugs in their tens menacingly wielding machetes, knives and other dangerous weapons.

"My supporters numbering about 15 were seriously wounded as they sustained various degrees of injuries and rushed to undisclosed private hospital where they were receiving treatment.

"One of the hoodlums who was apprehended disclosed that they were sponsored by an Osogbo based political Chief.

"The matter has been reported at the State Police Command, Osogbo."

Oke also disclosed that the victims were later rushed to an hospital in Osogbo where they are currently receiving treatment.

Condemning the attack, the lawmaker who described it as barbaric and primitive, admonished that such unprovoked and unwanted attack was capable of snowballing into ethnic chaos.
