In the postponed Ife East Senatorial District primary election that was held on Tuesday, Senator Adenigba Fadahunsi defeated Gbenga Onigbogi by 187 votes to 137 votes to emerge as the PDP candidate.

Oyewumi had on Monday defeated his close rivals, Peter Babalola and Dele Adeleke in the Osun Central Senatorial District PDP primary election to clinch the party ticket for the second consecutive time, having contested in 2019.

Fabiyi defeated a former Osun PDP chairman, Gani Olaoluwa and former Chairman of Irepodun local government, Kamarudeen Ajisafe to become the PDP standard-bearer for Osun Central Senatorial District.

A PDP inside source in a chat earlier revealed that the party was still collating the names of successful candidates and would officially release them to the public soon.

The most shocking loss during the Osun PDP primary election was that of Sunday Akanfe Atidade, the Osun House of Assembly member for Ede South State Constituency who lost out on Sunday and would not be contesting for the seat under the PDP.

The fallout from the PDP Osun State House of  Assembly primary election on Sunday was the tearing down of the campaign billboards of Senator Ademola Adeleke, the Osun PDP gubernatorial candidate in the Ejigbo local government area.

The remote cause of the action inside sources revealed is the disappointment that followed the loss of Akanfe Atidade.

Many supporters felt that Akanfe who worked tirelessly and visibly and opened pitched his tent with Ademola Adeleke should have been supported by the Ademola Adeleke political machinery.
