The murder of a 65-year-old woman by suspected ritualists has been confirmed by the Osun State Police Command.
According to reports, the victim's body was discovered on her farm in the Fadahunsi area of Ilesa at about 1:00 pm on Monday, August 1, 2022.
The Spokesperson of the Osun Police Command, Yemisi Opalola, said in a police signal: "Dare Oluyemi of Odundun area reported that his mother, one Oluyemi Tunmise, aged about 65 years, who family members have been searching for since Saturday, 30/07/22, was found dead on her farm at Fadahunsi area Ilesa at about 1130 hours with one of her eyes plucked out by yet to be identified assailants.”
It was further disclosed that the scene of the crime had been photographed and that the complainant and the deceased's other children did not allow officers to take their mother's corpse to the morgue.
Additionally, the signal stated that the children intend to bury their late parent and that they threatened violence if the police insisted on moving the corpse to a mortuary.
