Osun Police Lauds Electorates For Peaceful Presidential Poll

The Commissioner of Police, Osun Command, Patrick Kehinde Longe has appreciated the electorates for their encouraging conduct during the Presidential and National Assembly Election in the State.

According to a statement signed by Yemisi Opalola, the Command spokesperson, Longe stated that the conduct showed that the residents of Osun State were people of virtues.

Longe who urged the electorates to be more orderly in the House of Assembly election also assured the general public of adequate security before, during and beyond the election.

The Command also reiterated that the restriction of vehicular movement will be enforced to the letter.

"There will be no such movements from 12 am to 6 pm on the Election Day, except for those on essential services.

"Also, the Police Command at the same time warns against spreading of fake news and provocative content on social media with the intent to cause apprehension/panic in the state.

"The Police Command appeals to parents/guardians to monitor their children/ wards and prevent them from getting involved in any act of criminal activities or being used as political thugs to disrupt the election process."

The CP also appealed to the politicians in the state to caution their supporters to shun all forms of violence and avoid heating up the polity.
