Osun Police Parades Motorcycle Snatcher, Others

The Osun State Police Command has paraded one Ojo Olowookere for allegedly stealing a motorcycle.

Olowookere along other suspects alleged of robbering, murder were paraded on Tuesday at the Police Command headquarters in Osogbo.

According to the spokesperson of the command, Yemisi Opalola, Olowokere was arrested on February 6, 2023, at about 12:00 noon.

"The complainant reported at Dugbe Police Station that Bajaj motorcycle with reg. no. KJA 401QM belonging to one Bamijoko Kola ‘m’ parked in front of house at Omowunmi street, Fakunle Area, Osogbo was stolen."

She said immediately the police was alarted they started investigation, arrested the suspect and recovered the stolen motorcycle.

Opala, however, said the suspect will be charged to court after the completion of investigation.

The police also paraded 20-year-old Olatunji Peter.

The suspect allegedly beat a commercial motocyclist with firewood and he was confirmed dead at the hospital.

”On 19th of January 2023, at about 10:00am, Olatunji Peter and others at large stopped the deceased who was a commercial motocyclist and asked him to take them to a site where they intended to extort money from their unsuspecting victims.

"On getting to a location at Kobongbogboe area, Osogbo, the deceased left the suspects at the site without taking them back, the suspect and his colleagues got angry and when they were returning, they saw the deceased at a location, they decended on him, beat him with firewoods and planks until he fainted."

Peter in an interview said he is a mechanic and he was trying to look for thirty thousand Naira to collect his bike in police custody. 

"The reason why my bike was in police custody was because, I accidentally hit my bike with police car, so, when I realised it was police car, out of fear, I ran away and the police went away with my bike."
