Osun State: Fire Razes Sections Of The Atakumosa Central Mar

A section of the Atakumosa Central Market, in Ilesha, Osun State, was razed by fire, destroying goods worth millions of naira.

The fire began at 1 am, taking the surrounding shops that were located at the market's entrance and was only put out by firefighters and the police on ground.

It was reported by the Administrative Officer of Osun State Fire Service, Fatai Aremu, that, although the fire was put out early, there were obstacles at the market's entrance that impeded their access to the fire.

He stated that the inferno had caused a lot of serious damages and that the fire's source was yet to be known.

According to the Osun State Police Command, the police were dispatched to the scene of the fire to handle any looting that would take place.

No life was lost, according to the state command's spokeswoman, but many shops were lost in the fire.
