Osun State Has No Economy — Lasun Yusuff

Osun State Has No Economy — Lasun Yusuff

Former Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives, Lasun Yusuff

Former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Lasun Yusuff and a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has declared that there is no economy yet in the state.

This is as the former Deputy Speaker promised to transform the state to a trillion Naira economy under eight years of being given the chance and elected as governor.

Yusuff who stated this in a radio current affairs programme monitored in Osogbo on Friday disclosed that he has what it took to create an economy for the state as what is presently referred to as an economy is just a deception.

He disclosed that he was not part of people who do not believe in the ability of homegrown politicians to create an economy for the state adding that since there is nothing he cannot do for Osun he was going to create a suitable economy for Osun within four years as governor since he knows how to go about creating one.

According to him, "I will create an economy that the people and generation live on.

"I have what it takes to create an economy for the state and since I want to be governor, I will create and transform Osun economy in a timeline of four years.

"No economy is developed by foreigners but it takes locals to develop the economy of an area."

The former number six-man in Nigeria also revealed that to drive an economy, there was a need for development in the education, health and agriculture sector and exploitation of the mineral resources.

The former Deputy Speaker while lamenting the deplorable state of education in the state stressed that education being a liberating force, a swift change was needed in the sector.

While promising a turnaround in the sectors, he promised to exploit the system and create an associated value chain where all would work in synergy.
