Osun trains teachers in effective strategies

In a bid to ensure that Osun students come tops in external examinations and WAEC in particular, over 600 English Language and English Literature teachers are being trained in effective strategies for teaching.

This is as the state government revealed that it is leaving no stone unturned as measures have been put in place to ensure the dream is actualised.

Teachers for the training were drawn from all public schools across the state are.

Declaring the training workshop open, Special Adviser to the Governor on Education, Teniola Lanlehin stated that the training is the first of its kind in the state and a strategy plan of action to make the public school teachers and students augment the drive by Governor Ademola Adeleke to improve teaching and learning for better results in all subjects

"More teachers will soon benefit from such training further admonished the teachers who are currently beneficiaries of the training exercise to have open mind to learn new things as they are supposed to learn and relearn as the state is committed to revatilizing the education sector."

Also in his address, the Special Adviser to the Governor on School Monitoring, Akin Ajetunmobi while appreciating Governor Adeleke for approving such a training at this time in line with Osun Education Policy said,no doubt, the State is keen on having best teachers, who in turn, will produce best students. 

He further advised the teachers to take full advantage of the training exercise and make positive results from it. 

In his own speech, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education ,Mr. Murtala Jimoh enjoined the teachers to be attentive and show commitment in the course of the training, which he noted, is a rare opportunity that will further enhance their knowledge and the students they are being paid to teach and mentor.
