Osun Unveils State Entrepreneurship Programme

The Osun Social Investment Focal Person has unveiled the state's entrepreneurship programme to empower about 5000 youths, especially entrepreneurs and job seekers, among others.

The Osun State Focal Person made this known in a statement signed by Kehinde Ibitoye on Monday.

Ibitoye noted that the programme was in partnership with the Osun State Government, Fidelity Bank, and UNIPRENEUR.

The statement read, “We are using this medium to unveil Osun state entrepreneurship development initiative to the general public.

“The entrepreneurship development learning initiative is powered by UNIPRENEUR, an international digital entrepreneurship e-learning platform in partnership with Osun State govt supported by Fidelity Bank Plc.

“The aim of this initiative is to empower 5000 Osun State indigenous entrepreneurs, SMEs, job seekers, NYSC members, workers and graduating students to have access to the below-stated tools: Get stimulated entrepreneurship knowledge economy, get access to over 600 profitable business ideas.

"Get stimulated business knowledge, access to various business opportunities in Africa, register your company with CAC and get access to other legal services, get a logo/branding/website/app, get access to various skills, get access to digital marketing, open account (individual or corporate)by Fidelity Bank, get access to SMEs loan/other banking services by Fidelity Bank Plc), get business mentorship.

"Get a business plan/feasibility study, get an investor, seed capital or business partner, market your products and services, get a business consultant.

"The first phase of this initiative will only allow the selected 5000 Osun State participants to seek entrepreneurship knowledge online and get a certificate of learning at the end of 30 days learning period which proposes to kick start by May,1st to 30th 2023.

“The certificate of learning will be ceremoniously handed over to all the participants by the Osun State Government in Oshogbo at the latter date to be agreed on by the stakeholders involved.

“This initiative is in tandem with the present administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke's commitment to creating job makers across the State who will in turn creates job opportunities for Osun State job seekers.

“The project was facilitated by the office of the focal person to the Osun State Government via the Federal Government social investment initiative led by Hon Kehinde Ibitoye.

“Fidelity Bank's commitment is to facilitate the opening of corporate and individual accounts for all the 5000 participants, offering them SMEs loan to only qualify businesses and also provide other business banking support services for them subject to the bank procedures.

“The 5000 participants are expected to enjoy the full support of the state government when the state eventually launches its small and medium enterprises programme.

“UNIPRENEUR e-learning platform is founded by Olubunmi Oluwadare, a serial entrepreneur and author of the popular entrepreneurship development and Africa investment drive book ‘I SEE MONEY IN AFRICA’. Presently Director, Strategy and Trade Relations at Africa’s Young Entrepreneurs (A.Y.E)

“The Unipreneur access code will be sent to all the Osun State 5000 participants by May 1st, 2023.”
