Ahead of the forthcoming 2023 gubernatorial election, over 50 youths have dumped the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and the People's Redemption Party (PRP) in Kebbi State.
The decampees from Sabon-Garin Goru in Kebbi, dumped their parties for the rulling All Progressives Congress (APC).
They explained that they were in the APC to show solidarity with the APC gubernatorial candidate in the state, Dr Nasir Idris (Kauran Gwandu).
The decampees were received by the APC guber candidate when he visited the community.
Speaking during the visit, a stakeholder of the APC in the community, Many Pakin said the APC had won all the polling units in the community during the just-concluded presidential and national assembly elections.
He assured the guber candidate that they would replicate the same for him during the forthcoming Saturday March 18, 2023 governorship election.
This was contained in a statement on Sunday by Yahaya Sarki, spokesperson to governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State.
Pakin added that women and youths in the community have benefitted from the APC administration through different empowerment programmes and other developmental projects.
He further made a request on behalf of the community for the construction of roads, drainages and a mosque if Gwandu is elected as the governor of the state.
In his remarks, the APC gubernatorial candidate reiterated his commitment towards the welfare of people, particularly women and youths if elected.
He assured them that voting for APC would usher in continuation of sustained development to the people of the State.
