Owa Of Igbajo: Installation Rites Commence For Former Osun A

The Installation rites for the Owa of Igbajo have commenced according to tradition.

AllNews gathered that Prince Adegboyega Famodun, the former Osun Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is being installed as the traditional ruler of Igbajo in the Boluwaduro local government area of the state.

Coronation rites for Famodun kicked off on Tuesday, November 22, 2022.

The Osun State Government had on Monday, November 21 appointed Fanodun as the Owa of Igbajo, after the State Executive Council meeting, presided over by Governor Adegboyega Oyetola.

The appointment was announced in a statement signed by Funke Egbemode, the state Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation.

The statement indicated that the appointment was immediately effective and disclosed that Prince Famodun was unanimously selected as the sole candidate of the Owa Oke-Ode Ruling House in a meeting on November 11, 2022.

The stool of Owa of Igbajo became vacant following the death of Oba Olufemi Fasade on 23rd December 2020.
