Owo Church Massacre: Date For Victims' Mass Burial Revealed

The Catholic Diocese of Ondo State has picked Friday, June 17 for the mass burial of those who died in the terror attack on St. Francis Catholic Church on June 5.

According to reports, 40 people lost their lives in the tragic incident while scores of others sustained varying degrees of injuries.

The date for the mass burial was confirmed by Rev. Father Augustine Ikwu, the Director of Social Communication of the Diocese of Ondo State.

The clergyman disclosed that the mass burial will take place in a new cemetery at Emure Road, Owo.

The Ondo State Government recently cancelled the June 12 celebration to mourn the victims of the massacre, stating that it was for the people of the state to grieve the loss of their loved ones.
