Owo Massacre 2022: Memorial Park Commissioning Put On Hold

The Presidency has put on hold the commissioning of a memorial park dedicated to the memory of the victims Owo massacre.

The Owo massacre occured on Sunday, June 5, 2022, when gunmen gruesomely attacked the Saint Francis Catholic Church, Owo and gunned down the congregation during a thanksgiving service.

The commissioning is part of the activities to commemorate the tragedy when the terrorists opened fire on the congregation killing 41 innocent worshippers at the church located at Owaluwa part of the town.

The park was earlier scheduled for commissioning by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Monday, June 5, 2022.

According to competent source, the commissioning was put on hold by the Presidency due to some national engagements by the President.
