Owo Terror Attack: Osun Government Declares 3 Day Mourning

The Government of Osun State has directed three-day statewide mourning as a mark of solidarity and commiseration with the people of Ondo State over last weekend's terror attack that left many dead and injured.

In a statement signed by Funke Egbemode, the state's Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, the three days of state mourning will be observed from Monday, June 13 to Wednesday, June 15 according to the state government.

"During the statewide mourning, all flags will be flown at half-mast throughout the state and citizens are expected to conduct their affairs in sobriety in honour of our innocent brothers and sisters who were taken down by the attack."

The Osun State Government while commiserating with all those who lost their loved ones in the unfortunate incident also prayed for a quick recovery for those whose wounds are still being nursed.

On Sunday, June 5, 2022, Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Owo, Ondo State was attacked while service was ongoing and many worshippers were killed while others sustained injuries.
