Oyo Community Residents Cry Out As Rain Wrecks Havoc

Residents of Omo Community, Surulere local government area of Oyo State have appealed to the state government to come to their aid after suffering untold damage as a result of a heavy downpour.

The heavy rain which was accompanied by a storm was reported to have occurred on Wednesday evening and lasted for eighteen minutes before abating.

Residents lamented that the rain fell so hard that it blew away many house roof-tops, swept off many shops and pulled off tree branches.

Meanwhile, the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) in Surulere local government and the Ogbomoso Zonal Chapter while commiserating with the affected residents also called on the Surulere Local Government Authority under the leadership of Isaiah Adegbite and the Oyo State Government to as a matter of urgency see to helping the victims out of the colossal loss.

It also appealed to other agencies like FERMA and other notable individuals to come to the aid of the victims.
