Oyo government monitors conduct of ongoing 2024 WASSCE, expr

The Oyo Government has registered its satisfaction with the conduct of the ongoing 2024 West African Secondary School Certificate Examination, WASSCE, across the thirty-three local governments of the state.

The State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Salihu Adelabu made this development known while monitoring candidates writing English Language subjects in the ongoing examination.

Adelabu who was represented by the Coordinating Director, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Christiana Bolaji accompanied by other directors from the Ministry, affirmed that the candidates were orderly and commended the West African Examinations Council, WAEC, school administrators for proper arrangement of the candidates in a way that discourages examination malpractices, noting that English Language was one of the key subjects for entering into higher institutions of learning.

“The good conduct of the examinations, the good disposition of the learners to their studies and various awards won by the students, schools, teachers and school administrators alike, were the confirmation of the Governor Seyi led administration’s efforts in transforming the educational system in the State”, he stated.

 He further applauded the candidates for their good comportment, hoping that the exercise would yield better results.

Some of the schools visited include Holy Trinity Grammar School, Loyola College, and OkeBadan High School, all in the Ibadan axis.
