Oyo PDP Elects Ogungbenro As State Chairman

Dayo Ogungbenro, a former Chairman Caretaker committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the South West has emerged as state Chairman at the party’s congress held at Lekan Salami stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan.

Ogungbenro remarked after his victory that the new State Working Committee would work hard to ensure that the PDP is the darling of every resident of the state.

Earlier, congress committee Chairman, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi called on all members of the party to rally round the Ogungbenro led state executives to better reposition the party.

Ugwuanyi stressed that credible state congress would reflect in a stronger and more cohesive PDP that is well motivated to deliver landslide victory in Oyo state in 2023 general election.

He lauded the Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde for engendering strong followership and formidability of PDP in the state.

Makinde in his speech, maintained that the party remained open to accommodating everyone aggrieved.

Makinde added that the party will end the divisive tendencies in the country and place it on the path of unity and oneness if it is given the opportunity to govern the country in 2023.

Other members of the Oyo PDP executives are: State Deputy Chairman, James Olukunle; State Secretary, Wasiu Adeleke; Senatorial Chairman (Oyo Central), Mufu Ogunremi; Organising Secretary, Taiwo Alagbe; Publicity Secretary, Akeem Olatunji; Wulemot Ibitoye and Michael Ogunsina, Youth Leader.
