Oyo Police Arrests Headmaster For Impersonating Police Offic

Adebisi Ayodele, a 59-year-old Assistant Headmaster was on Monday paraded by the Oyo State Police Command.

Ayodele who is a resident of Ogun State was arested for impersonating an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) for years.

The suspect was arrested by the Special Oyo Police Operation Squad on Sunday August 21, 2022, along Asejire road, Egbeda Local Government, Ibadan the capital city of Oyo State.

The suspect according to police report had impersonated an Assistant Superintendent of Police attached to Police Mobile Force Unit of the Nigerian Police Force.

The report also explained that two unexpended canisters were recovered from him.

Ayodele when questioned admitted that he had been going about as a member of the Nigerian Police for 13 years.

The suspect also revealed that he is a Level 14 civil servant and an Assistant Headmaster at a primary school in Ikereku-Idan area of Abeokuta.

Upon interrogation by the police, the suspect who has since admitted to committing the crime, confessed that his passion for the police job led him into the act.

The Oyo State Police Public Relation Officer, Adewale Osifeso noted that the suspect and others like him were the ones portraying the Nigerian Police in bad light with unscrupulous acts.

He urged members of the public to be very vigilant of such criminals masquerading as police officers.
