Tension has enveloped the town of Iganna in the Iwajowa Local Government Area of Oyo State following an attack on the police station in the area.
Punch reports that the attack took place on Tuesday night and was carried out by some hoodlums.
An anonymous who spoke with the news outlet revealed that anxiety hs gripped those living in the vicinity as two officers lost their lives in the attack.
"Two persons were killed including a police officer but you know it’s only a doctor that can confirm if someone is dead or not.
“The crisis is within the people in the town and not herdsmen attack”, the source shared.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Adewale Osifeso, said an investigation into the incident had commenced.
“Investigation has commenced into the matter. Updates would be provided accordingly”, he stated.
