Oyo Prison Break: 13 Inmates Rearrested In Osun

The police in Osun state have arrested 13 Abolongo prison escapees in a community in the state’s Ejigbo local government area.

This comes after gunmen raided the prison in Oyo town, Oyo state, killing security staff and releasing all prisoners in custody, inmates fled.

The prisoners were re-arrested on Saturday, according to the state Police Public Relations Officer, Yemisi Opalola, in separate communities in the local government that shared a border with Oyo state.

Adekanbi Kola, Semiu Sali, Garuba Nurudeen, Ismaila Garuba, Nasifi Garuba, and Qadri Yusuf are among the prisoners, according to her.

Bamidele Kehinde, Daodu Emmanuel, Dele Babatunde, Adeyemo Ifalowo, Ridwan Akinsola, and Sola Owolabi are among the others.

“All of the inmates will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department soon for proper handover to the Department of Corrections,” she said.

After neighbors alerted security officers to the appearance of a gang in a village near Ola community, it was learned that the runaway prisoners were attempting to threes in villages around Ejigbo.
