Nigerian music producer, P. Priime, has recently shared the backstory of how the hit song ‘Bandana’ by Fireboy DML featuring Asake was made.

In an interview with BBC 1xtra, P. Priime disclosed that they worked on about five songs in one night and ‘Bandana’ happened to be one of them.

Fast forward to 2022, Fireboy reached out to P. Priime and said they needed to finish the song.

Fireboy had already recorded his part and felt like something was missing.

According to P. Priime, Fireboy shared the song with YBNL boss, Olamide, who in turn played it for Asake.

Asake then sent his vocals, and the song went through several mix iterations until it was perfected.

“I think we worked on about five songs that night and ‘Bandana’ happened to be one of the songs,

“Fast forward to 2022, Fireboy said we needed to finish the record.

“He recorded his own part already and was done. He needed something, he felt like something was missing.

“He said Baddo actually played it for Asake and Asake is going to be on the song.

“At the time, Asake was already with YBNL. Asake sent his vocals; we had like back and forth with the mix, up to like mix 10 or 11.

“Right now, the song is up and banger. All glory to Jesus,” he said.
