Nigerian media personality Toke Makinwa has opined that pain is necessary for growth.
Recounting the moment someone she loved gave her a "box full of darkness" on her Snapchat account, Makinwa said that it took her so many years to understand that that was a gift too.
According to her, one might not be where they are today if someone didn't hurt them so badly.
She concluded by saying pain births purpose and is a necessity for growth.
"Someone I loved once gave me a box full of darkness. It took me years to understand that this too, was a gift," she wrote.
"If they didn't hurt you so bad perhaps you won't be where you are today. Pain births purpose, the pain was necessary for growth."
