Pastor, Wife Arrested For Raping 16 Year Old Church Member

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested one Pastor Peter Taiwo of the Christ Apostolic Bible Church and his wife Elizabeth, for raping a 16-year-old member of the church choir.

Abimbola Oyeyemi, the Police command’s spokesperson stated that the couple was arrested on Friday, December 10 in Abeokuta. 

The suspects were arrested based on a complaint lodged at the Adatan Divisional Headquarters by the victim, who claimed that she was at the church for choir practice when the pastor’s wife told her to meet the pastor in their room for an errand.
 
She added that when she got to the room, the pastor’s wife locked the door from outside. The pastor overpowered her and forcefully had sex with her. The pastor's wife came in later and told her not to tell anyone about the incident, claiming "she had become a woman."

After their arrests, the couple confessed to the crime but blamed the devil for it as they pleaded for forgiveness from the victim.

The suspects have been transferred to the state criminal investigation and intelligence department, after which they would be charged to court as soon as investigation is concluded.
