Pay Compensation To EndSARS Victims - Maharaj Ji To Governors

Pay Compensation To EndSARS Victims - Maharaj Ji To Governor

Satguru Maharaj Ji has called on the 36 states governors to take urgent steps to pay the compensation recommended for the EndSARS victims in order to attract public confidence that they are truly the chief security officer of their states.

Maharaj Ji who is known as the Living Perfect Master and World Teacher by his disciples revealed that by doing this, the citizenry would know that the governors believe strongly in the constitution which guarantees the protection of the citizenry against any oppression.

Making the call in a press statement through the One Love Family Divine Information Officer, Ojo Mogbadewa, Maharaji Ji recalled that the EndSARS protests which shook Nigeria between October 8 and 20, 2020, was a public outcry for an end to police brutality, extra-judicial killings, extortion and abuse of power, especially by officers of the defunct Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) of the Nigerian Police.

He noted that the protest, which started peacefully had turned violent as hoodlums took advantage of the situation, burnt police stations, public facilities, and carried out attacks on security personnel and citizens.

Maharaj Ji posited that "This is the best of times. The time we are commemorating our independence, sixty-one years ago from the European Colonialists led by the British. The fact that we are no longer under the yoke of colonialism but determiners of our own statehood is a matter of joy and pride. Within this period, we have discovered and exploited many mineral resources plus large quantities of crude oil.

"One could imagine the explosion of joy on the faces of our nationalists and founding fathers as they received the mantle of leadership in 1960. They would think then that a real giant was born and that our independence would be a floodgate to heaven as well as the fact that the country was on the verge of unity, stability, and buoyancy.

"But today, we have realized that that was a figment of imagination because some of our elders have gone astray, thereby wasting their own generation, frustrating our own, while they have totally mortgaged the future unborn generations. They achieved that by nurturing to fruition vices of tribalism, religion, nepotism, greed, parochialism, selfishness, and corruption.

"Therefore, the prospects of unity and progress for the nation became doomed because Nigerians rejected the Creator in their pursuit of wealth. Thus, the post-independence rule by Nigerians, civilians, and military have been characterized by mal-administration or virtual abdication of minimum government responsibility.

"There is an urgent need for the Federal Government to publish names of those convicted for fraud so that we can know who are the true Nigerians ready to patiently grow naturally to help grow Nigeria from those bent on stealing/diverting funds for infrastructures into their pockets in order to stop those who may like to steal in future."

The protest, which had started off peacefully, led to the disbandment of SARS by the federal government of Nigeria.

The protest was however brought to a halt on October 20 when officers of the Nigerian Army shot at the protesters, killing and injuring some of the mostly youth protesters.
