PDP Crisis: Ayu Speaks On Reported Meeting With Wike

The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Iyorchia Ayu, has stated that contrary to reports, he has not met Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State.

Wike has been adamant about Ayu stepping down as chairman of the party and a viral photograph of them in Port Harcourt led to speculations that a recent meeting took place.

Addressing the reports, Ayu said the trending photograph is an old one as his Special Adviser on Media and Communications, Simon Imobo-Tswam, clarified that his principal never met Wike in Port Harcourt or anywhere else.

“Dr Ayu states clearly that: He never travelled to Port Harcourt and he has not set eyes on Gov. Wike lately.

“The photograph trending on social media is an old one. The story accompanying it is, therefore, false and mischievous.

“For the purpose of factual accuracy, that he is in no way embattled.

“The National Chairman is, rather, enjoying the New Year break with his family", the statement reads.
