Muhammad Sani Abacha, the son of the late military ruler, has won the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) parallel governorship primary election in Kano State.
Abacha contested alongside Jaafar Sani Bello in the primary election which was conducted under the supervision of Shehu Sagagi on Wednesday night.
According to reports, Barrister Amina Garba, who was the returning officer, declared Abacha the winner after he polled 736 votes to defeat his closest rival, Jafar Sani-Bello, who got 710 votes.
Mohammed Jamu, the chairman of the electoral committee, disclosed their primaries are conducted legally with validly-elected delegates and supervised by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the police and the State Security Service (SSS) operatives.
