PDP Restates Resolution Of Internal Crisis

Stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) from the North Central zone on Wednesday after a meeting in Abuja restated their commitment to the amicable resolution of the party's internal crisis.

The meeting took place behind closed doors on Wednesday,  at the Abuja private residence of the Benue State Governor and leader of the party in the North Central zone, Samuel Ortom.

Some of the stakeholders who attended the meeting included the National Vice Chairman (North Central), Hon. Theophilus Dakas Shan, former Kogi State Governor, Captain Idris Wada, Senator Solomon Adokwe, Senator Zainab Abdukadir Kure, the former National Publicity Secretary of the party, Kola Ologbondiyan among others.

The PDP Zonal Vice Chairman, Hon. Shan who spoke to journalists briefly after the meeting said "We are into consultations discussing how we are going to resolve our issues. I am telling you that before long, you will see the issues settled."

He expressed confidence that no member of the party was leaving despite the issues, noting that even those who are aggrieved were still committed to working for the victory of the party.

"Have you had anybody leaving the party? No. We are all going to work for the party. You have heard all those aggrieved said they are going to work for the party. 

"As we talk, we will continue to see how these issues will be resolved. Nobody wants to leave the party and that is a good thing.

"We have just left our leader's (Ortom's) place more informed and feeling much better and very emboldened to continue consulting for the victory of our party," he stated.

According to the Zonal Vice Chairman, a new date for the visit of the Presidential candidate of the party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar to the North Central zone would soon be fixed, adding that the earlier date was put off.

Governor Ortom had earlier also met behind closed doors with the National Secretary of the PDP, Senator Sam Anyanwu.
