The Rivers State Government has disclosed what it calls evidence to blackmail Governor Nyesom Wike.
Issuing a stern warning to the group of faceless persons behind the alleged blackmail, the State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Chris Finebone, stated that a campaign of calumny is being orchestrated against Wike.
Addressing pressmen in Port Harcourt after the state executive council meeting on Wednesday night, Finebone added the detractors seem to be uncomfortable with the governor's role in the demand by the G-5 Governors of the Peoples Democratic party for fairness, equity and justice in the party.
He displayed a document said to carry the sinister plot by those hatching the plan but did not reveal its content.
“This is the evidence of the plot to blackmail Governor Wike. This is the document and it is titled, ‘proposal with hashtag, to end Wike rascality programme.'”, Finebone stated.
“We encouraged them to remove their mask and show themselves as the governor and the government is equal to the task of responding to them adequately”, he added.
