Peseiro Drops 23-Man Squad List For Super Eagles Clash Again

Super Eagles coach Jose Peseiro has released his 23-man squad list for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Sierra Leone slated for later this month.

The list unveiled on Friday is headlined by Sivasspor forward Ahmed Musa as well as Napoli and Serie A top scorer Victor Osimhen.

Other familiar faces on the list are Alex Iwobi, William Ekong, Moses Simon, Adebayo Adeleye, Kelechi Iheanacho, Taiwo Awoniyi and Wilfred Ndidi.

On the home front, Peseiro invited four NPFL players, namely: Victor Sochima of Rivers United, Olorunleke Ojo of Enyimba FC, Chidiebube Duru of Rivers United and Divine Nwachukwu of Bendel Insurance.

The Eagles will trade tackles with Sierra Leone on Sunday, June 18 at Samuel Kanyon Doe Stadium, Monrovia, before taking on Sao Tome and Principe in September in the final match.

They are at the top of their qualification group with nine points from four matches and are closely followed by Guinea-Bissau’s Wild Dogs who have seven points.

A win against the Leone Stars on Sunday will see them finish in the standings in the first place should the Wild Dogs lose or draw against Sao Tome and Principe.
