Pete Edochie: Nollywood Legend Extols Late Grandson

Nollywood veteran Pete Edochie has paid a glowing tribute to his late grandson, Kambilinachukwu Edochie who died on Thursday morning.

Fans of actor Yul Edochie were shocked when news of the teenager's death became a trending topic on Twitter.

Kambilinachukwu was 16 at the time of his demise and celebrated his birthday two months prior.

Speaking about his late grandson, Pete Edochie called him "brilliant" and "talented", adding that he was always temperate.

The acting legend also called the boy an accomplished young man.

“Kambilinachukwu is a very quiet, brilliant and talented child. He’s not somebody you can ride easily. He doesn’t get angry no matter the situation.

“He may change his composure, but he was definitely a very unusual person in so many respects.

“He was so accomplished. I always tell my son that I don’t like people excelling like this in anything they are involved in.

“Experience has taught me that such people don’t last long”, Edochie shared.

Kambilinachukwu developed a seizure while playing football with his schoolmates and slumped.

He was rushed to the Mother and Child Hospital, Lagos, where he was confirmed dead hours later.

As of the time of filing this report, his father, Yul Edochie is yet to comment on the tragedy.
