Peter Enahoro: Popular Journalist Dies In London

Renowned journalist Peter Enahoro has died in London, the United Kingdom (UK).

The columnist, popularly known as Peter Pan, his pen name, died at the age of 88.

Enahoro's death was announced in a statement by Nigeria’s foremost female journalist, Bunmi Sofola.

“Regret to announce the passing on of our iconic journalist Peter Enahoro “Peter Pan” today in London at the age of 88. RIP.

“Also known by the pen name of “Peter Pan” because of his popular column in New African magazine under that name. He has been described as ‘perhaps Africa’s best-known international journalist,” she said.

The late journalist, author, businessman and publisher was born on  January 21, 1935.

Enahoro who is one of the pioneers of Nigerian journalism was an editor of the Daily Times.

He attended the Government College, Ughelli (now Delta State).
