Phasmophobia Introduces Offline Single Player Feature

Kinetic Games, has added an offline single-player for Phasmophobia along with bug fixes and ghost journal updates to enhance gamers' experience as part of its one-year anniversary update.

Kinetic Games released notes for this new update on Steam and described in detail the minor changes to the current gameplay – as well as mention of its new single-player option.

This update also includes a journal fix that increases accessibility to the game’s menus and improves its organizational aspects.

This option does not connect you to the game’s servers and allows players to venture out into its paranormal activity on their own. This update also includes a journal fix that increases accessibility to the game’s menus and improves its organizational aspects. Players can now tick off entries in the journal when tracking ghost evidence.

Phasmophobia games usually thrive on its four players co-op option but it's nice to have the choice of a single player.

Highlighting the big update is an overhaul for the journal, with a new design that allows gamers to cross off evidence as they gather it and access the pause menu from within. Specifically, on the VR front, you can now mute yourself using a pause button on a controller.

Phasmophobia itself remains in Early Access for now and has seen constant updates over the past year. Last month saw the addition of two new ghosts along with some other significant changes.

“Today, Phasmophobia is one of the highest-rated games on Steam which is incredible and something I never imagined happening,” the developer wrote in a Steam post announcing the update. “It doesn’t stop there either, we have many great updates planned for the future including this Halloween!”

Kinetic Games also used this anniversary as an opportunity to correct some ongoing bugs in the game. It dealt with a memory leak that appeared on the main menu for players using controllers and got an exploit that allowed players to hide from ghosts. This effectively makes the game scarier; not even cheating can ward off fear now.
