PHOTOS: First Batch Of Nigerian Evacuees Arrive Abuja From Sudan

After enduring life-threatening situations in war-ravaged Sudan, the first batch of Nigerians has arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport, Abuja.

The evacuees who are 376 in number took off from Aswan, Egypt after a harrowing journey crossing the border.

The stranded Nigerians were airlifted on Wednesday by Nigerian Air Force on the NAF C-130H aircraft and Air Peace at about 4 pm in the afternoon.

According to reports, the returnees landed in Abuja at 11:35 pm against the 11:23 pm planned for a touchdown at the Nnamdi Azikiwe airport.

The development will no doubt calm the frayed nerves of the families of the evacuees and concerned Nigerians as efforts continue to rescue the rest still in the war-torn foreign country.
