Phyna Reveals Longest Relationship Was With Yahoo Boy [Video

Phyna

Phyna, the winner of season 7 of the Big Brother Nigeria reality show, has revealed that her longest relationship was with a ‘yahoo boy’.

She said this in a recent podcast appearance where she shared her thoughts on the impact of ‘yahoo boy’ culture on relationships in Nigeria.

She candidly revealed that she has never had a good experience in a relationship, and her longest relationship was with a ‘yahoo boy’ who never gave her any financial support.

According to Phyna who will be turning 26 this year, many young men who engage in fraudulent activities commonly referred to as ‘yahoo boys,’ do not financially support their partners and often prioritise clubbing and flaunting their material possessions.

“I’ll be 26 this year. I’ve dated; I’ve been in a relationship. If you check my life story well, there was never a time life was good for me; and I had a boyfriend.

“In fact, once upon a time, my longest relationship I dated a yahoo guy

“Trust me; he never gave me a dime. All he does is chill, yahoo boy go club, spray."

She also spoke about how many young women in Nigeria are drawn to the flashy lifestyle of ‘yahoo boys’ and often overlook the lack of financial support in their relationships.

“Majority of yahoo boys don’t give their girlfriend money.

"And the girl will be there not because she is getting [money] but because of his money and they will go to club. The title, the car, front seat.

“If there are 100 yahoo boys in Nigeria, 90 of them don’t give their babe money,” Phyna said.
