Plateau Commissioner's House Invaded By Gunmen, Wife Abducte

The residence of Plateau State Commissioner of Environment, Usman Bamaiyi, has been invaded by gunmen who abducted his wife and daughter.

It has not been ascertained whether or not Bamaiyi was at home when the unknown individuals entered his house in the Gindiri community of Mangu local government area of the state but the incident has been confirmed by the police.

Commenting on the happening, the spokesperson of the Plateau State Police Command, ASP Ubah Gabriel, disclosed that men of the command were already on the trail of the abductors to ensure the release of those kidnapped.

The news comes barely seven days after two clergymen were kidnapped in the region and Sani Musa, a resident of the community, told Daily Trust that the Gindiri area is being besieged by marauding bandits.

It was previously reported that the son of a serving commissioner in Plateau State was recently killed by bandits.
