Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang has further reviewed the curfew imposed on Jos-Bukuru metropolis of the state.
The governor's Director of Press and Public Affairs, Gyang Bere disclosed this in a statement on Saturday.
According to the statement, the decision followed improvement of the security situation in the area and conduct of residents of the area.
Bere explained that following the review, the residents can now carry out the lawful activities between 10:00 a.m and 6:00 p.m daily.
He added that the directive takes effect from Saturday, August 10, 2024.
The statement partly reads: “Effective Saturday, August 10, 2024, residents are now permitted to carry out their lawful activities between the hours of 10 am and 6pm daily, until further notice.
“This decision was authorised by His Excellency, Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, following thorough consultations with security agencies.
"The adjustment is aimed at allowing citizens to continue their economic activities while maintaining public order.”
The governor also appreciated the residents for their patience, cooperation and patriotism during the challenging period.
He also appreciated the security agencies for their commitment to enforcing the curfew and urged all residents sustain their support for the security agents in ensuring the safety of lives and properties.
Allnews.ng recalls that the governor had recently relaxed the 24-hour curfew imposed on the Jos-Bukuru metropolis following the violence that erupted during the peaceful #EndBadGovernance protest.
The curfew was initially relaxed, easing residents' movements between 2:00 p.m and 6:00 p.m.
