Pochettino likely to remain at Chelsea, Osimhen gives Blues go-ahead

Pochettino likely to remain at Chelsea, Osimhen gives Blues

Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino may have a future at the club after all despite the trigger-happy approach of its owners who are seemingly impatient with the previous head coaches.

The Blues began the just-ended campaign in unconvincing fashion and for most parts of the season were in the lower rung of the Premier League table but finished strongly with a sixth-place finish which guarantees them European football next season.

However, according to a report monitored on Caughtoffside.com, the Argentine and the club owners held a fruitful meeting where issues concerning the summer transfer window were discussed.

With the way Chelsea's season ended, their transfer plans seem to be still intact and Nigeria's Victor Osimhen remains a target.

Caughtoffside even indicated that the Super Eagles and Napoli striker has given the West London club the go-ahead to negotiate terms with his agent ahead of a possible summer move.

The Nigerian hit-man – whose release clause is €130m – will leave Napoli in the summer and he has a burning ambition to play in the Premier League next year - and although he was once approached as a starry-eyed 18-year-old after the 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup to play for Arsenal, Osimhen is a known admirer of Chelsea icon Didier Drogba.
