Police Arrest 14 Suspects Who Invaded Justice Odili’s House

The Nigerian police have arrested a group of 14 persons who allegedly posed as security personnel and raided the home of Supreme Court justice Mary Odili.

This was disclosed on Thursday by the Force Public Relations Officer, CP Frank Mba while parading them at the Force Headquarters Annex, Garki, Abuja.

Frank Mba said seven others are still at large and security operatives are in pursuit.

One of the arrested persons includes a fake Chief Superintendent of Police identified as Lawrence Ajojo who reportedly led the team.

According to Mba, those arrested are criminals from various professional backgrounds.

“The Inspector-General of Police (IGP) ordered a comprehensive investigation into the incident.

“Earlier on, the Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice had also submitted a written petition into the office of the IGP, requesting a robust and discreet investigation into the matter, with the aim of unraveling the identities of the persons involved, their motives, and perhaps, the authorities, if any, behind them.

“The case was subsequently handed over to the force intelligence bureau on the instruction of the IGP", he said.

Recall that some security operatives on Friday 29th October 2021 reportedly stormed the home of Supreme Court justice Mary Odili Abuja.

The operatives were said to have gone to the judge’s home to execute a search warrant as part of investigations into her husband, Peter Odili, who is a former Governor of Rivers State.

The security operatives, who came with a search warrant, were said they received information on “illegal activities” going on in the house.
