Police Arrest Man For Impersonating Imo Commissioner To Slee

Akwa Ibom State Police Command has arrested a suspected fraudster, Imaobong Akpan, for allegedly impersonating Pastor Umo Eno, the state Commissioner for Lands and Water Resources.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, Odiko MacDon, while parading the suspect at the command headquarters in Ikot Akpan, on Tuesday, the suspect was arrested following a petition against him.

The exhibits recovered from him at the point of his arrest include five SIM cards, two phones and foreign currencies in dollars and yuan.

Other than impersonating the commissioner on Facebook and defrauding unsuspecting members of the public, the suspect deceived mostly women by offering them fake jobs in exchange for sex.

“The suspect, who is a notorious fraudster and sex maniac, confessed to having fraudulently created the Facebook account.

“He used the said account to lure innocent and unsuspecting ladies to hotels, have carnal knowledge of them with a promise to assist them secure jobs while defrauding others of various sums of money running into millions.

“He succeeded in luring more than 10 ladies through the fraudulent Facebook account and had sexual intercourse with them at various hotels while posing as the personal assistant to the honourable commissioner," the police PRO said.

During the parade, the suspect confessed to committing the crime in the presence of journalists, saying he did not know what pushed him into the act.
