Police Arrest Principal For Defiling 6-Year-Old Pupil In Sch

Police in Delta State has arrested the Principal of Royal Children International School, Asaba, Emmanuel Okafor, for allegedly defiling a six-year-old pupil in the school toilet.

It was learnt that the principal was arrested at the school premises by police officers attached to 'A' Division Police Station in Asaba, where the pupil’s mother reportedly complained to the school and the suspect.

It was gathered that the principal was conducting early morning devotions for the students when he was summoned to the proprietor’s office for questioning over the rape allegations against him.

A family source who did not want his name in print said: “At the proprietor’s office, the six-year-old pupil narrated how the suspect defiled her at the school toilet and asked her to keep it a secret or she will be sent out of the school.

“The proprietor was sad about the unfolding drama between the principal and the minor who continued to say that the principal was the one that defiled her.

It was also learnt that the victim’s mother observed that her daughter's movement had suddenly changed while walking around prompting her to question the girl who disclosed to her mother that the principal had raped her.

After a test was carried out on the pupil, it was discovered that her hymen was damaged.

The police spokesman in the state, Bright Edafe, who confirmed the incident, said that the command is carrying out a thorough investigation on the matter and will thereafter charge the suspect to court.
